Golden Sashes

A humble doctor from the Hanbei Territory, Zhang Jiao devoted her life to treating the less fortunate farmers of her homeland. However, as her humanitarian efforts became more well known and patients began arriving from all corners of Sanguo, Zhang Jiao came to the bitter realization that the suffering she bore witness to was not limited to Hanbei alone. At the peak of her contempt for the emperor and for her own lack of ability, a mysterious figure approached her with a magical tome. The Luopan would give her mystical abilities to not only cure the sick, but it would also grant her the power to build an army. From this, the Golden Sashes were born, their rebellion sweeping through Sanguo like an unrelenting tempest. This marked the beginning of a new era in Sanguo– an era steeped in dark magic and shadowed by an empty throne.

Wu

When his father handed him the Imperial Seal in private, neither Sun Quan nor his father grasped the true weight of what it meant to claim the throne of Sanguo. As they plotted their path to power, Sun Quan became the first outside of those close to the emperor to uncover the Seal's hidden truths. What he learned shocked him—being emperor could alter the fate of the world, but leaving the throne vacant would bring about its destruction. With his father’s sudden death on the battlefield and the struggle for the throne intensifying, time was running out. It was now up to Sun Quan and his siblings to find the true imperial palace before someone else did.

Wei

Cao Cao had always been careful about the company she kept, but, in her last clash against the pesky Golden Sash rebellion, her patience with Yuan Shao, her childhood friend, had been wearing thin. Their friendly rivalry had stretched on for too long, and Cao Cao found herself bored, always emerging the victor– her ambitions had outgrown their games. She became weary of her competitors and would not hesitate to cut down anyone who stood between her and the throne. Her first target: Lu Bu. After Dong Zhuo’s assassination, Cao Cao could no longer trust the hot-headed general to roam freely. With rumors swirling of the outsiders that she met during the Golden Sash conflict, she felt an even greater urgency to find the seal and take the throne.

Shu

Just as pink cherry blossom petals floated through the breeze when they made their promise that fateful day, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei would drift through different factions during the warring times, only to find their way back to each other. Though a commoner, Liu Bei believed that Sanguo should be ruled by someone with strong morals. Yet, as she surveyed the contenders for the throne, she grew concerned—none lived up to her ideals. With her sisters by her side, and encouraged by an unexpected relationship with an outsider, Liu Bei resolved to take matters into her own hands and begin her own quest for the throne.
